DESIGNING USING GIVEN/FOUND DATA (INFOGRAPHICS)
GD III – INFORMATION DESIGN
FALL 2018
ILLINOIS STATE UNIVERSITY
COLLEGE OF FINE ARTS
Students were asked to Identify an area of personal interest (for example: sports, food, ethnic demographics, smartphone usage, differences between competing brands etc). This could be anything, but they had to keep in mind, it had to be something that you they were able to manage, considering the time constraints of this assignment.
Students were asked to conduct research and accumulate a series of data, related to the area of their personal interest, using appropriate reliable sources. They had to make sure they gathered data that spanned across a wide range of information related to the area of their personal interest.
After the research portion of the assignment was done, the students were asked to design a piece utilizing the given/found data they have gathered. They had to make sure to tell us (the viewer) a story. They had to design in a way that communicated their given/found data in a way that engaged the viewer in the most efficient way.
